Presso Massage from Cryo Studio Sarasota is also known as Pressotherapy, lymphatic drainage therapy or lymphatic drainage massage. It stimulates your lymphatic system by compressing and decompressing a specific part of your body, helping you get rid of toxins and excess fluid. It helps reduce liquid retention, bloating, improve blood circulation and battle cellulite, while being a fast and enjoyable treatment at the same time. So how does it work?
Our lymphatic system is part of our circulation system. Just like our blood circulation system carries our blood, lymphatic system carries our lymph – a fluid that consists of white blood cells, but also fats, and metabolic waste. Our lymphatic system is responsible for ensuring that this process goes smoothly and our body gets rid of all the toxins, metabolic waste and excess fluids, and it is also important for a healthy digestive system.
An unhealthy lifestyle, can slow down our lymphatic system which means that it can no longer get rid of the toxins fast enough, this results is less blood supply to the legs, swelling, pain and other related discomfort can occur. When people lose weight they are burning fat, and toxins are stored in fat. If your body is overloadedwith toxins it doesn’t want to release the fat and this is where pressotherapy comes in.
Pressotherapy fights these conditions, by compressing and decompressing certain parts of your body to stimulate better functioning of your lymphatic drainage system. It relaxes your muscles and improves your blood and lymphatic circulation. It does this by moving blood and lymph towards the heart, as its doing this, it is pulling out the metabolic waste, and the lactic acid, improving circulation and allowing the body to detoxify.
The therapy has been well known in the wellness industry and is not new, but most spas and clinics offer manual lymphatic drainage massages. The manual treatment usually consist of a massage therapist exerting pressure on various parts of your body to stimulate the functioning of the lymphatic system. As a better, faster and more convenient alternative – pressotherapy devices now exist that offer more programs and pressures, and give you complete independence from a wellness therapist. Our Presso Massage Machine offers 19 different treatment settings. Some of the most popular are:
● Lymphatic Drainage
● Cellulite Treatments (Edematous, Fibrose and Sclerotic).
● Lymphoedema
● Sports Recovery Massage
● Relaxing Massage
● Firming or Skin Tightening Massage
The Presso Massage Machine consists of a central unit which controls the pressure and can let the user select the optimal program, as well as a large suit that you have to wear before the treatment. We also have a “jacket” (see photo below) that we use to treat the arms and an “overall” (see photo below) that we can use specifically for cellulite treatments. The central unit is also responsible for pumping the air into the suit, which is what creates the pressure and massages the body, encouraging lymphatic drainage.
Stimulation of the circulatory system and lymphatic drainage has a large number of benefits other than getting rid of the excess fluid and toxins in your body. Other than improving your circulation and helping you relax and recover from body pain, pressotherapy is well known as a side treatment during Cryo Slimming Treatments, as it can increase the effectiveness of any weight loss or cellulite treatment that you are undergoing by speeding up the drainage of unwanted toxins. Lymphatic drainage pressotherapy is useful for those suffering from cellulite, varicose veins, rheumatism, blood circulation problems and increased liquidretention, as well as exhausted muscles and tired legs. It is a great way to increase your blood circulation, get rid of body and muscle pain and detoxify your body by getting rid of toxins and unnecessary fluid that your body holds.
